Aksuna’s long-awaited second album, When Snow Melts, is a collection of experiences that reflects all the seasons of life, and how we as human beings continue on despite it - the tragedy, the perseverance, and the hope. Each solo piano piece has been carefully crafted to grace us with a permission to feel an emotion we’ve always longed for but never seem to want to admit - a pain buried deep not yet forgotten, or a wish upon a star for a brighter tomorrow. Collectively, it merges into a river of what life would sound like if it were made up of chords, each note, like a moment, is fleeting yet profoundly eternal.

Aksuna is a classically-concert pianist breaking the moulds of the tradition. Her music is emotionally gripping, sometimes virtuosic, sweeping, and at other times intimate and personal. Within the safety of a harbour to call home, Aksuna’s perfomance of her pieces allows us to discover the beauty and the heartwrenching brevity of what life entails. All of which has the power to heal us if we let it.
