Deejay x Dancer

Step into the spirit of the legendary block parties of 1970s New York with Deejay x Dancer by acclaimed choreographer Nick Power. This electrifying performance pays homage to hip-hop’s roots, featuring world champion turntablist DJ Total Eclipse (AB Original, Hilltop Hoods) against three killer Australian Breakers: Anastasios Repousi, Justice Crew member and winner of Australia’s Got Talent; Jackson Garcia, member of breaking crews Skill at Will and Team Cream; and Demi Sorono from So You Think You Can Dance.

Deejay x Dancer is a riveting live performance that showcases the skill, playfulness, and deep connection between these two pillars of traditional hip-hop. Through a thrilling call-and-response showdown, Power’s choreography explores hip-hop’s rituals and origins, building on the success of his previous hit works: Cypher, Between Tiny Cities, and Two Crews.

Don’t miss this dynamic showcase of hip-hop’s rich heritage and its vibrant, evolving artistry, brought to life on the Carriageworks stage.
