What's On

American Song

Seemingly ripped straight out of today’s headlines, American Song is an intimate and deeply moving meditation on what it means to be a parent in a changing world and a searing and unforgettable exploration of the story and song that is America.

“A miraculous masterpiece. An incomparable and utterly transcendent play” – Broadway World

As Andy heads off to work to give the biggest presentation of his career, he wishes his teenage son goodbye. Eight hours later everything has irrevocably changed. Andy and the Nation are left asking how much we are responsible for the world we have created and the people our children become?

Presented by the multi award-winning company, Flying Penguin Productions, in association with Goodwood Theatre and Studios, and as part of the State Theatre Company of South Australia 2025 STATESIDE Program. Previously Flying Penguin Productions presented Sea Wall and Glengarry Glen Ross. American Song is written by the internationally acclaimed playwright of the sell-out sensation Julia.
