On Saturday November 8 the legendary light artist Roger Foley-Fogg (aka Ellis D Fogg) will mark the end of an era with a final performance at Paddington Uniting Church Sydney.

Since the 1960s Ellis D Fogg has been a pioneering force in Australia’s counterculture art scenes. A founding member of the Yellow House Artist Collective (1970–73) he is widely recognised as Australia’s “Father of Lumino Kinetics.”

His groundbreaking practice which combines light movement and sound has been exhibited internationally in New York New Delhi Bangkok Hong Kong and Singapore and is currently being featured at LIGHT SOURCE a major survey of Australian light artists at the Australian National University Canberra.

In this one-night-only event Fogg will pass the torch to a new generation of visionary artists. A dazzling fusion of colour music and performance the show is both a celebration of his influential six-decade career and a symbolic handover of his lightshow legacy.

The evening will be officially opened by acclaimed Australian folklorist and cultural historian Warren Fahey AM. Also appearing is special guest Francesca Emerson author of ‘The Chocolate Bunny’ whose extraordinary journey has taken her from Harlem to the Playboy Mansion and now to Goonellabah NSW.

Audiences can expect an immersive multi-sensory experience with performances including:

  • LIQUIDELIC – mind-bending liquid light projections in the psychedelic tradition
  • AWUWA (Yao Mikami & Mico Sundari) – a healing yogic mantra
  • Blushmoor – lush atmospheric sounds
  • Leonie Cohen – live piano taking requests
